Magic in Van Alstyne Texas

Cozy small railroad town founded in 1873 by William A. Van Alstyne, known for its tight community. I came here to film tiny home tours at a near by community called Namastay Hideaway. As soon as I arrived to the community I was met with open arms. Full access to the owners home for the bathroom, cooking, chilling, whatever I wanted. They wanted nothing in return except a shout out on the tiny home tour videos which I most certainly did. And then they invited me stay in one of their open lots with hook up to power at NO CHARGE. But then a rare snow storm came through, brought the temps down really low and dumped half a foot of snow. During those days a couple of the residents offered their homes to get me out of the elements, little did they know I LOVE snow and I had a toasty heater in my van. But still, how nice are these people to open their home to a random stranger. Here’s the magic, I’ve been going to this coffee shop in town called Myth & Ember. A man named Tim has befriended me and I’m so happy for it. He’s thoughtful, helpful and mindful. After visiting the coffee shop for a couple weeks, today when I came in, HE HAD MY COFFEE READY FOR ME NOT EVEN KNOWING I WOULD SHOW UP. How amazing is that feeling. That is how you run a business. I have a few days left here and I’m sad to leave behind this group of people that I now consider my friends. Till next time.
